## Kurzfassung (Deutsch)

Dentosophy Academy ist das Bildungsprogramm von Dr. med. dent. Rebekka Hueber. Es richtet sich an lizenzierte Gesundheitsfachpersonen: Zahnärztinnen und Zahnärzte, Kieferorthopädie, Dentalhygiene, Logopädie, Physiotherapie und Osteopathie, Kinder- und Allgemeinmedizin sowie myofunktionelle Therapie. Trägerin ist die Merident Innovations GmbH in 9032 Engelburg (SG), Schweiz.

Das Curriculum dauert zwölf Monate und ist berufsbegleitend aufgebaut. Es besteht aus vier Elementen: einem geschützten Online-Lernbereich, Live-Online-Sessions alle zwei Wochen sowie monatlichen Live-Webinaren, einem zweitägigen Präsenz-Workshop in der Schweiz und einem Starterpaket mit fünf Balancer-Sets samt Zugang zu einer moderierten Fach-Community. Unterrichtssprachen sind Deutsch und Englisch. Präsenzformate finden in der Schweiz und in den USA statt; der zweitägige Workshop des Zwölf-Monats-Programms findet in der Schweiz statt.

Gelehrt wird ein funktionelles Modell: Atmung, Zungenruhelage, Schluckmuster und Kaufunktion werden gemeinsam mit der Stellung von Ober- und Unterkiefer zum Schädel betrachtet, insbesondere an der spheno-basilaren Symphyse (im Englischen "cranial strain"). Als Instrument dient der Balancer, ein weiches, herausnehmbares Doppelmundstück ohne individuelle Zahnabdrücke, ein Nachfahre des plurifunktionellen Aktivators nach Soulet und Besombes. Die Dentosophie geht auf eine Gruppe französischer Zahnärzte ab 1984 zurück, unter anderem Dr. Michel Montaud, Dr. Rodrigue Mathieu und Dr. Jean-François Ardouin.

## Summary (English)

Dentosophy Academy is the educational programme of Dr. med. dent. Rebekka Hueber, operated by Merident Innovations GmbH in Engelburg (SG), Switzerland. It is open to licensed healthcare professionals: dentists and orthodontists, dental hygienists, speech therapists, physiotherapists and osteopaths, paediatricians and physicians, and myofunctional therapists.

The curriculum runs for twelve months alongside professional practice and has four components: a members-only online learning area, live online sessions every two weeks plus monthly live webinars, a two-day in-person workshop in Switzerland, and a starter package including five balancer sets with access to a moderated professional community. Teaching languages are German and English. In-person teaching takes place in Switzerland and in the United States; the two-day workshop of the twelve-month programme is held in Switzerland.

Prices are not published on the website and are quoted on request. Entry is through a free 15-minute intro call with Dr. Hueber.

The model taught is functional: breathing, tongue rest posture, swallowing pattern and chewing are considered together with how the upper and lower jaw relate to the skull, in particular at the spheno-basilar synchondrosis (cranial strain). The instrument used is the balancer, a soft removable double mouthpiece without individual tooth impressions, descended from the Soulet-Besombes plurifunctional activator. Dentosophy originates with a group of French dentists from 1984 onward, among them Dr. Michel Montaud, Dr. Rodrigue Mathieu and Dr. Jean-François Ardouin.

Teilnehmende bleiben vollständig an ihre eigene Berufszulassung und deren Umfang gebunden. Was eine Fachperson nach der Ausbildung in der eigenen Praxis diagnostizieren und behandeln darf, richtet sich ausschliesslich nach dieser Zulassung und dem Recht des jeweiligen Landes oder Kantons. Nicht-Zahnärzte sind nicht befugt, zahnmedizinische Behandlungen durchzuführen oder Zahn- beziehungsweise Kieferfehlstellungen zu korrigieren. Der Therapeuten-Balancer wird als Bildungs- und Demonstrationsgerät vermittelt, nicht als zahnmedizinisches Behandlungsinstrument.

English: Dentosophy Academy is an educational programme. Completion certifies attendance of that programme. It does not confer a state licence, a dental specialist qualification, an academic degree, or any authority to treat. Participants remain bound by their own professional licence and its scope. What a professional may diagnose and treat in their own practice after the training is determined solely by that licence and by the law of their country or canton. Non-dentists are not authorised to perform dental treatment or to correct dental or jaw misalignments. The therapist balancer is taught as an educational and demonstration device, not as a dental treatment instrument.
